Vishay has announced multilayer ceramic chip antennas that cover the entire UHF band - 470 to 860MHz.

The devices are aimed at mobile TVs, in phones, multimedia players, and notebooks, receiving DVB-T, DVB-H, ISDB-T, and MediaFLO.

Dubbed Vitramon, the chip antennas are 35x5x1.2mm for the VJ 3505, and 10.5x15.5x1.2mm for the VJ 6040, and comply with the MBRAI standard.

Both antennas feature a 50Ω unbalanced interface and operate over -40 to 85°C.

The RoHS-compliant devices are omni- directional with linear polarisation, and are designed to be assembled onto a PC board in the standard reflow process.

Samples and production quantities are available now, with eight weeks lead time for larger orders.
