Contract electronics manufacturer Karavale Enterprises is creating 390 new jobs in Cwmbran near Newport in Wales as a result of a ?10m expansion of its existing factory. The firm has also recently opened a new plant in County Clare, Ireland
Welsh Secretary Ron Davies called the investment by Karavale "another major jobs boost" for
the region. The expansion, which is in response to significant domestic and export contracts for the PCB assembler, is being supported by the Welsh Office under the Regional Selective Assistance scheme. The existing workforce of 210 will increase to around 600.
Karavale, which has been in Cwmbran for seven years, will acquire a 45,000 sq ft factory next to its existing site.
