Dialog Semiconductor, the mixed-signal device firm is setting up a new audio IC design centre in Edinburgh. The move follows the award of a £1.3m grant by Scottish Enterprise.

The Stuttgart-based company expects to employ at least 20 design engineers at the new centre by the end of the year.

The first such products are expected to be introduced within the next 12-18 months.

Dialog Semiconductor, which is a UK plc listed on the German stock exchange, is a fabless chip design house, specialising in mixed-signal devices and power management products.

Dialog also has a design group specialising in Swindon.
