Microchip updates security chipMelanie Reynolds
Microchip has announced a dual channel version of its KEELOQ code
hopping security chip. Developed in conjunction with Toyota, the
HCS362 is aimed at remote keyless entry for cars, garages and
burglar alarm systems. The two channels mean, for example, that a
car and garage doors could be operated from a single remote keyfob.
The 8-pin chip has a standby current of under 1µA.
