|NewsletterA European EDA start-up specialising in networks-on-chip has won €4.2m in venture funding.
Arteris said it would use the money to fund further research and development along with building a product roadmap and market introduction.
"This is a strong vote of confidence for the potential of our technology and our company in general," said Alain Fanet, founder, president and CEO of Arteris.
The Arteris technology replaces conventional bus structures with a packet-based network. As process technology shrinks and with rising use of intellectual property (IP), networks are required too communicate across chips, claimed the firm.
The switched fabric is described as homogeneous and scalable, to any number of IP blocks.
Paris-based Arteris plans to license IP and EDA tools to support its technology. It has around 30 employees, and last year won first round funding to the tune of €10m.
