|NewsletterCambridge-based start-up Plastic Logic claims to have created the world’s largest flexible organic active matrix display.
The 10-inch diagonal SVGA (600 x 800) device has a resolution of 100 pixels per inch and four levels of greyscale. It was built on Plastic Logic’s 350 x 350mm prototype line, and uses an inkjet printed flexible PET backplane to drive an electrophoretic display effect from US-based E Ink.
The complete display is less than 0.4mm thick. Plastic Logic showed the display at the 12th International Displays Workshop in Takamatsu, Japan last week.
