|NewsletterIDT (Integrated Device Technology) has announced that Chelsio Communications has chosen to use IDT network search engines (NSEs) in its T210 and T204 10GbE TCP/IP offload engine (TOE) reference designs targeted at server and storage systems.
Chelsio's reference designs rely heavily on the IDT NSEs to allow mutual customers’ end designs more flexibility as well as the ability to use more CPU cycles for data centre, networking storage and high performance cluster computing (HPCC) applications.
The IDT NSEs also allow the Chelsio designs to increase bandwidth, improve overall performance, optimize available power budget and reduce message latency in a cost effective manner.
The IDT NSEs easily integrate into Chelsio-based designs by hooking up to the main TCP/IP offload engine application specific integrated circuit (Asic).
By offloading the compute-intensive functions, server and storage customers can focus their resources on value-added services enabling faster time-to-market.
Chelsio's board-level products process complex communications protocols at 10Gbit/s rates, allowing host servers and storage systems to dramatically increase both application performance and communications bandwidth.
