|NewsletterAn application-optimised network search accelerator from Integrated Device Technology is being used by Xelerated – a network processor vendor based in Stockholm, Sweden and Santa Clara, California.
Xelerated said it is using the accelerator on its reference boards to demonstrate advanced, wirespeed metro Ethernet and enterprise applications.
The firm said that by offloading the classification and forwarding lookups from Xelerated’s Ethernet optimized X11 network processor, the IDT search accelerators enable richer services support at an aggregated 20Gbit/s line rate.
Xelerated and IDT have been working together since 2001, starting with the X10q network processor. The X11 and future network processor devices support IDT's new generation of fast network search engines and accelerators.
Network processors from Xelerated also take direct advantage of the 80-bit search interface from IDT when processing advanced classifications, and use the IDT enhanced data integrity features such as error correction code.
