|NewsletterWith digital TV switchover just a year away in the US, Microtune will present at CES 2008 a digital TV tuner chipset which supports all three US standards, which are NTSC, ATSC and Digital Cable Ready.
The device integrates three tuners, for analogue, digital and cable, in one chip, the MT2131 supports analog and digital TV across both off-air and cable TV reception. This means the chip can be used to bridge legacy analogue and digital TV standards.
Microtune will also be showing its low power tuner for multi-standard, multi-band TV reception in handheld devices such as mobile phones. The Mobile MicroTuner MT2260 and MT2266 chips are already designed into products currently deployed in commercial mobile TV networks and implemented in concept products for MPH-based handheld devices.
The Mobile MicroTuner chips are built using Microtune’s patent-pending ClearTune filtering techniques to enable clear, sharp, interference-free reception in unpredictable mobile reception environments.
