|NewsletterBlasting the blues in the desert next week will be the ‘International Electronics Blues Band’, the ad hoc combo which first saw the light of day at the International Electronics Forum 2002 in Morocco, then re-formed for a gig on a boat on the Danube during IEF2006 in Budapest, and now is to be re-formed for next week’s IEF 2008 in Dubai.
The stalwarts of the band, Alexander Kourliandskiy of Electronintorg on keyboard, Synopsys CEO Aart de Geus on guitar, Malcolm Penn, CEO of Future Horizons on drums, and Rolf-Jurgen Bruess formerly of Infineon on guitar, will form the core of the combo once again.
“We’re looking for a couple of additional recruits to really make things hum”, says Penn, “ideally we need a bass guitarist and sax player … and if you can sing as well, so much the better.”
The 17th annual International Electronics Forum will be deliberating: on the subject: ‘The Global Electronics Ecosystem. Revolution or Evolution?’ between May 7th and May 9th in Dubai.
Anyone with musical talent wanting to join the combo should email mpenn@futurehorizons.com.
