|NewsletterTaiwan-based MSI has launched a small cheap full-function PC for desktop and industrial use.
Called Titan 700, the computer is 185x240x70mm (3.1litre) and is recommended to sell at around £240 including VAT.
Based around a 170x170mm Mini-ITX motherboard, inside is a 2GHz VIA Technologies C7 processor with 1Gbyte of DDR2 RAM, plus a 120Gbyte 2.5in hard drive and a slim DVD writer.
I/O includes Gigabit LAN5.1 audio and USB.
The power supply is a 60W external unit with active power factor correction. .
MSI claims the PC is quiet "with an operating noise of less than 35dB(A) during full operation and 20dB(A) in standby mode. It's perfect for giving you a quiet and comfortable working environment especially at night".
Last month MSI announced a competitor to the tiny Asus eee notebook which is causing such a stir.
'Wind' has 8.9 and 10in. screen options, both 1,024x600 and LED backlit, and is said to weigh around 1kg.
Unlike eee, which is has all-solid state memory, MSI has fitted an 80Gbyte 2.5in. hard drive.
