Jaltek gets wireless body monitor with Hidalgo buy
Jaltek completes the acquisition of Cambridgeshire-based Hidalgo, a design services company specialising in RF comms and physiological monitoring systems.
MID IC demand to hit $2.6B in 2012

Qualcomm ups forecast with strong 3G sales
Qualcomm gave another boost to the semiconductor and wireless markets by increasing its forecast for revenues and profit in the third quarter and for the whole of the year.
TI buys analogue specialist
Texas Instruments has announced that it has acquired Innovative Design Solutions (IDS), an analogue chip specialist and longtime TI supplier.
LTE wireless modules smaller, less power-hungry than UMTS - NXP
LTE wireless modules will be smaller, lighter and less power-hungry than UMTS modules, according to NXP, which today launched its LTE chip-set capable of data transfer rates of 150 Mbits downlink and 50 Mbits uplink, and supporting LTE, HSPA, UMTS, EDGE, GPRS and GSM.
