|NewsletterAtmel has announced two microcontrollers that consume less than 240µA at 1.8V and 1MHz, and under 100nA powered-down.
"These AVR microcontrollers are especially suited for remote control, accessories and small appliances," said the firm.
Dubbed ATtiny48 and ATtiny88, the 32 pin devices have four and 8kbyte of flash respectively. Operating from 1.8 to 5.5V, both include a 10bit ADC and an internal temperature sensor, as well as SPI and I2C interfaces.
Throughput is up to 12Mips at 12MHz.
The chip follow on from Atmel's the picoPower megaAVR devices, but are cheaper.
Samples of the 4k version are available now, followed by the larger device this third quarter, in QFN32, QFN28, TQFP32 and PDIP28 packages.
