ARM has added support for its Cortex-A9 processor with the release of v3.3 firmware for its RealView in-circuit emulator.

“This release also supports TI OMAP3 and TI DaVinci platforms, the ARM1176JZF-S and Freescale i.MX31 application processors,” said ARM.

Operations include auto detection, manual selection, debug enabling on connect and reset, and watchdog support, and it now runs with Windows Vista and XP, as well as Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 - including Linux USB support for run control and trace.

ARM’s CoreSight access tool for low-level interrogation of CoreSight systems is now supported.

“Enhanced configuration and display of CoreSight systems including auto-associations performed for simple trace topologies, visual display of CoreSight components as children of their respective Debug Access Points, and GUI editor for defining trace associations,” said the firm.

For fast download to devices connected to the JTAG-AP in CoreSight systems, there is now a AMBA AHB download utility.
