New Jersey’s Universal Display is claiming 8,000 hour operating life for its high efficiency white OLED material.

In June, the company announced a phosphorescent white OLED producing 102 lm/W.

That puts this research OLED level with the best conventional production white power LEDs.

Lifetime, according to the company’s Dr Brian D’Andrade, was measured from 1,000cd/m sq to half brightness.

Colour rendering index of the material is 70%, with a 3,900K colour temperature. Operating voltage is 3.5V.
