|NewsletterWolfson Microelectronics has appointed Glenn Collinson to its Board as a non-executive director with effect from 1 September 2008.
Collinson was a co-founder of Cambridge Silicon Radio (CSR) in 1998 and was with the Bluetooth chipset compamny to its listing as a public company in 2004, first as marketing director and then as sales director.
"We are delighted to appoint someone of Glenn's standing and reputation in the semiconductor industry to further strengthen the Board of Wolfson. His outstanding sales and marketing credentials will be a significant asset to Wolfson as we execute on our AudioPlus strategy," said Michael Ruettgers, chairman of Wolfson Microelectronics.
Collinson has held a number of directorships in the last five years including director of Sonaptic until its sale to Wolfson in July 2007 and director of CSR.
Since retiring from the Board of CSR in 2007, Collinson has taken up and currently holds positions as a non-executive director of DiBcom SA, a fabless semiconductor company, a non-executive director of MicroEmissive Displays Group, light emitting polymer displays manufacturer and a non-executive director of Inside Contactless SA, a supplier chipsets for wireless payment and near field communications.
