|NewsletterAs part of its major reorg announced last month, Philips spin-out NXP Semiconductors has said that it has retained ATREG, the semiconductor sales division of Colliers International, to sell its 200mm semiconductor fab located in Fishkill, NY, for an undisclosed price.
The site develops and produces high performance BiCMOS RF and High Voltage CMOS technologies on 200mm 0.25-micron equipment.
Also, NXP is willing to license its advanced process technologies and enter into a supply agreement which would immediately allow for rapid market penetration and instant product differentiation in leading edge applications, according to Stephen Rothrock, Colliers Senior VP and managing director of ATREG.
Present capacity on the fab is approximately 19,000 wafer starts per month at process nodes of 0.25- to 0.35-micron with capability down to 0.18-micron.
The fab contains an on-site advanced technology innovation group that are developing leading-edge analogue, RF and high-voltage technologies.
The fab also has a complete operational SMIF line with approximately 400 advanced manufacturing tools.
Peter Yates, senior VP and general manager of NXP concluded in a statement, "NXP is committed to identifying a qualified purchaser who will recognize the inherent long term value of the offering and the dedicated, experienced and highly-skilled staff on site."
