picoChip has been ranked Number 17 on the Deloitte Technology Fast 500 EMEA 2008, a ranking of the 500 fastest growing technology companies in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Rankings are based on percentage revenue growth over five years, during which picoChip grew 4483 percent.
"picoChip made an early investment in femtocells", said Guillaume d'Eyssautier, picoChip's president and CEO, "picking the right horse to back can be a tough choice, and advanced wireless is no exception. We chose to use our proprietary technology to back the whole pack with femtocells, and it has paid dividends."
picoChip also ranks in the top 3 on the UK Technology Fast 50, which is a ranking of the 50 fastest growing technology firms in the UK..
Based on multi-core processors, picoChip's ICs go into WiMAX basestations, and are the leading top choice for femtocells with support for TD-SCDMA, HSPA, LTE, cdma2000/EvDO and GSM/GPRS/EDGE.
To qualify for the Fast 500, entrants must have had 2003 operating revenues of at least EUR 50,000 and 2006 operating revenues of at least EUR 800,000.
Entrants must be a "technology company," defined as a company that owns proprietary technology that contributes to a significant portion of the company's operating revenues or devotes a significant proportion of revenues to the research and development of technology. Using other companies' technology in a unique way does not qualify.
