Andor Technology has added a number of OEM customers in the US for its scientific imaging and spectroscopy technology. One order is expected to deliver nearly $3m in incremental business during 2009.
Belfast-based Andor has been targeting sales in the US in a business strategy which involved investment in sales, production and support for OEMs to facilitate the increased volumes.
“Since commencing our US operations in 1997 with our regional headquarters in Connecticut, the company has experienced growth in all regions and in multiple research application areas and OEM segments," said Chris Calling, president of Andor US.
The latest contract wins are in both the research markets and OEM instruments sector. "This creates even more opportunities for future growth, and we look forward to maintaining this momentum,” said Calling.
For the year ended 30 September 2008, Andor reported turnover up 16.2% to £24.7m and operating profit up 56.7% to £2.12m.
