Leoni has acquired US-based Valentine Robotics as part of the
German automotive cabling specialist's moves into the industrial
robotics market in the US.
Valentine Robotics provides programming and commissioning of
industrial robots. It also provides image processing and measuring
systems.
Leoni has significantly extended its robotics portfolio with this
purchase.
This includes the assembly of complex umbilicals and dresspacks
with pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical components, their robot
manufacturer-independent installation, preventive maintenance and
service as well as production of various polyurethane hoses and
special control and power cables.
The Detroit-based company is an established supplier to the car and
robot manufacturing industry and has average sales of $2.5m and
about 20 employees.

Industrial Solutions business unit of the Wire & Cable
Solutions division we are broadening not only our footprint in
North America, but also again our systems expertise,” said Dr Klaus
