Dialog Semiconductor has secured a design win for its power management chips and is supporting NEC Electronics in a design platform for smartphones and other battery-powered portable devices.

The design platform combines NEC's EMMA Mobile 1 application processor with Dialog's DA9052 configurable power management IC.

"This is an important collaboration allowing Dialog to participate closely with NEC Electronics to address our customers' next-generation portable designs, particularly in the Japanese and Asian market," said Dr Jalal Bagherli Dialog Semiconductor's CEO.

A feature of the design is that dynamic voltage scaling can be used on up to five outputs and Dialog's SmartMirror dynamic biasing is implemented on all linear regulators.
