
Elektra Awards 2009 - Embedded System Product of the
Year
In the run up to this year’s Elektra Awards, which are to be
presented at an Awards Ball which takes place on 1st December at
the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London, we look at the finalists for
each of the technology and business award categories.
Embedded System Product of the Year
Embedded system design typically relies on leading edge software
running on processor, FPGA or DSP platforms and we invited
companies to enter their most innovation product launches of the
last 12 months. Judging criteria were – performance, design
flexibility and suitability for an application.

2008 Winner of the Embedded System Product of the
Year
QNX Software Systems - Aviage Acoustic Processing Kit.
This is a modular library of pre-defined and field-proven software
algorithms designed to improve the quality and accuracy of voice
communications in automotive handsfree and speech recognition
systems.
It uses acoustic echo cancellation and speech enhancement
techniques to detect and extract voice audio from cabin noise
created by road surfaces, construction, engines, wind, rain and
other vehicles.
