Avnet Embedded has extended its agreement with Cinterion
Wireless Modules to include the distributor's French business Axess
Technology.
The wireless machine-to-machine (M2M) module franchise is already
carried by
Avnet's UK-based TDC
operation.
The M2M market is seen as one market which iahs been less imapcted
byteh economic downturn with activity in transportation and remote
energy metering applications.
“As in other markets, France is seeing burgeoning demand for M2M
solutions in a variety of sectors,” said Serge Bitoun, general
manager at Axess.
Cinterion specialises in
GSM, GPRS, EDGE and 3G modules and terminals and according to
Martin Brooks, v-p, Avnet Embedded, these products form "a key part
of our wireless strategy".
