Aeroflex has plans to expand its test system product development team in the UK at its Donibristle facility in Scotland.
The expansion has been prompted by growth in the market for test and measurement equipment in the sectors aerospace, defence, and wireless mobile sectors.
"We have staffed a very strong team of talented engineers with experience in our core technologies, products, and markets. This senior team of software and hardware engineers will help to strengthen our development activities in our common platform and PXI solutions projects," said Bob Vogel, vice president and general manager of Aeroflex Test Solutions, Wireless business unit.
According to Vogel, the development centre represents an "outstanding opportunity for engineers to further their careers as part of our dynamic UK-based R&D team".
"The current round of staffing is the first phase in what we expect to be a long-term programme of growth, focused on strengthening our engineering resources and market place position," added Vogel.
Aeroflex's UK centre was involved in the development of test systems for LTE handsets and basestations. These include the 7000 Vector analyser Generator, announced last month; the 7100 LTE Call Box; a PXI-based manufacturing solution; and a TM500 mobile handset emulator.
