Harwin has appointed distributors in Russia and the Ukraine, two markets which the connector manufacturer has identified as growth opportunities.
“It is clear that Russia and the Ukraine are becoming very strategic regions,” said Mark Herbert, Harwin’s distribution manager for Eastern Europe.
“We are seeing enquiries for a lot of new design in work in applications including oil and gas, robotics, industrial and process control,” said Herbert.
In Russia the company is using Moscow-based Radiant Elcom.
“Its customer base includes research institutes, design bureaus telecommunications and power electronics companies,” said Herbert.
Harwin is also using St Petersburg-based Komtek.
“In the Ukraine it is using Biakom a catalogue company which also offers subcontract PCB assembly.
