Arrow has teamed up with embedded hardware and software firm Everex to create a development platform for ARM-based processors from Samsung and Freescale.
The hardware and software development kit is available with options for host processors – the Samsung S3C2440 (ARM920T), Samsung S3C6400 (ARM1176) or Freescale i.MX31/32 (ARM1136JF-S).
There is a credit card-sized CPU board, a motherboard containing key peripherals and interfaces, a touchscreen-enabled TFT display and an embedded operating system.
As well as the LCD panel, the kit offers audio input and output and an input for a 3 column x 4 row keypad.
Connectivity includes connectors for the CPU, a 10/100Mbit/s Ethernet port, RS232 and RS485 capabilities, two USB host interfaces and one USB client.
The kit provides support for both Linux and Microsoft Windows Embedded CE operating systems.
There is also the Everex BSP (board support package) for Windows Embedded CE.
