Sequoia Technology has signed ZigBee module manufacturer Telegesis.

The firm makes 2.4GHz ZigBee modules for mesh networking up to 600 nodes.

The distributor has clearly identified wireless networking as a growth sector.

“Many applications are being driven by the requirements of the smart energy and home health care sectors and this is underpinned by heavy R&D investment,” said David Taylor, wireless product manager at Sequoia.

Sequoia Technology is holding a seminar covering wireless technology at its offices in Reading next week.

The event, which is free of charge, will include speakers from Jennic – representing ZigBee technology, Telit - representing GPRS and 3G technology and Wireless Logic – representing the Cellular Networks.

Telegesis is based in High Wycombe and manufactures OEM ZigBee modules based on Ember silicon.
