Design consulatncy Elonics has expanded its development team in Livingston to strengthen its capabilities in RF semiconductor technologies used in the wireless comms market.
The Scottisgh design firm has recruited engineers which previously worked at Cadence's design services operation in the region. Commercial manager, Alf Sheppard and principal engineers, Tony Gribben and Jim Brown will lead Elonics new product development in Ultra Wide Band communications and multi-media receiver products.
"Elonics has a formidable team of design engineers in place supporting our commercial and research operations," said David Srodzinski, managing director of Elonics.
A further three senior engineers recruited over recent months, again from Cadence, will work in the consultancy's RF silicon development team. The firm specialises in analogue and mixed-signal device development.
"With a growing portfolio of clients and openings in a number of commercial areas Elonics is looking forward to continued strong growth," added Srodzinski.
Cadence announced the closing of its design services unit at Livingston in April.
