The Open University’s Milton Keynes campus is the site of the e2v centre for electronic imaging (CEI).

The centre, a collaboration between the Open University and e2v, will carry out R&D in to technologies for electronic image sensing. It will also provide knowledge exchange between industry and the University.

According to Professor Holland, Director of the e2v CEI, research student numbers are increasing and the centre is recruiting for a further two 5-year research Fellowships to start early in 2010 to expand the core capabilities of the research.

The partners are investing £3m in the centre.

"We are excited to be working with the Open University and Professor Holland, strengthening and evolving the e2v CEI.  As the CEI team grows we hope to include imaging research outside the current space focus," said Dr. Trevor Cross, group chief technology officer for e2v.
