Dell to create 3,000 jobs in Eire David Manners Dell Computers is to invest $250m to create more than 3,000 jobs in the Irish Republic: 2,400 jobs at its Limerick manufacturing site and 600 jobs at its sales and telephone-based sales center at Bray in County Wicklow. The Limerick investment will double Dell's European manufacturing capacity. Jan Gesmar-Larsen, president of Dell Computers for Europe, Middle East and Africa, said there was a "lot
of hype" about the uncompetitive wage costs of manufacturing in Europe rather than the Far East, commenting: "The cost today is the time of distribution, production and the time of installation."
