Cable plant aims at £21m turnover

CHH CoNex: Ashmead, Turner, Whitmore, Coley and Hughes

Birmingham-based cable assembly firm CHH, is aiming for growth following its recent rebranding to CHH CoNeX, and the addition of Shaun Ashmead as director in charge of operations.

The three-year strategy will focus is to increase turnover to £21m by diversifying into the aerospace, defence, medical, transport and security markets - and start with streamlining operations and business development activity.

"CHH CoNeX is a well-established cable assemblies, integrated products and logistics services provider with a solid track record in the telecoms, and industrial markets," said MD Tim Hughes, who started the company with eight employees in 1990.

Operations director Ashmead, joins CHH from Axiom Manufacturing Services in South Wales where he was MD.

CHH currently employs around 105 people at its 85,000 square feet Birmingham plant.
