ST-Ericsson has appointed Didier Lamouche as president and chief executive officer. Lamouche replaces Gilles Delfassy.
Lamouche was chief operating officer of STMicroelectronics and has served on the board of ST-Ericsson since April 2011.
According to the mobile phone chip-set supplier, its plan now is "scaling up and delivering volume".
"Didier Lamouche's background and extensive industry experience will bring important additions to ST-Ericsson during this crucial phase in the company's evolution. On behalf of ST-Ericsson's board, I thank Gilles for his strong contribution to ST-Ericsson,"said Hans Vestberg, Chairman of ST-Ericsson.
The company is a 50/50 joint venture between STMicroelectronics and Ericsson.
Lamouche will maintain his title of ST chief operating officer.
