Hamlin Electronics has set up a manufacturing facility in China and as a result has put its manufacturing facility in Diss up for sale.
The company built the Norfolk plant in 1995 to manufacture sensors.
The $2.5m facility in China opened in December and will manufacture sensors for the Chinese automotive industry.
"The Suzhou facility has not been set-up to replace manufacturing jobs in the UK. Rather to provide a base from which Hamlin can design, manufacture and sell custom sensing solutions for the automotive, industrial and consumer product markets in China and the broader Asian region," said Simon Pitkin, director of sales and marketing at Hamlin.

The international agents, Cushman & Wakefield along with Norwich-based Roche Chartered Surveyors are jointly handling the sale of the property.
According to James Allen of Roche: “The Hamlin Electronics factory provides an opportunity for technology companies seeking a prestige production unit, including those who might be considering moving within Anglia.”
The site also houses administration offices and a technical centre which will be moved to new premises in the area once the factory has been sold.
