Synopsys has added 40 and 55nm hi-fi audio intellectual property (IP) portfolio, with a dynamic range of 96dB.

The firm already offers audio blocks between 80 and 103dB for process nodes from 180 to 60nm.

"Synopsys is the first IP provider to offer audio codecs, DACs and ADCs in these advanced processes," claimed the firm. "The IP is targeted for consumer electronic applications requiring Hi-Fi playback and record capabilities with low power consumption and small silicon area, such as portable media players, mobile phones, smart phones, Blu-Ray players and digital cameras."

Designers can pick and mix functions including: signal processing, clock management, power management and Class G drivers.

The IP is available now, limited to TSMC processes.
