Nu Horizons Electronics has announced an expansion of its distribution centre in Coventry.
Representing a six-fold increase in product stocking capacity, the facility will become part of the distributor’s European network.
"Recent phases of our expansion in Europe have placed continued demands on our local logistics network," said Dave Aberg, operations manager for EMEA at Nu Horizons.
The Coventry facility will fulfil orders from all of Nu Horizons' Eastern European offices. The distributor has recently opened two bases in Eastern Europe to cover Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary and Romania, in addition to its offices in Coventry, UK and Munich, Germany.
Orders from the Nordic region will continue to ship from the company’s wholly-owned subsidiary C-88 AS, based in Hørsholm, Denmark. Nu Horizons added to its European component distribution business last month
with the acquisition of Denmark-based distributor C-88 AS.
Nu Horizons has also recruited logistics staff to support the Coventry expansion.
