Job Description:

 

Our client is a world leader in advanced power electronics, headquartered in North America.

 

Its Berlin, Germany office is the European headquarters and will primarily focus on the Renewable Energy market. The office is located in Adlershof - City of Science, Technology & Media - where there is a critical mass of renewable energy companies and research organizations. As a newly established office in Europe, this office will have close interaction with our client's offices in Spain and North America. We are looking for bright individuals who will help evolve this office into a world class organization.

 

Position Summary:

 

Our client is seeking a Product Manager to work with its Renewable Energy team in Berlin, Germany. The Product Manager will, with a focus on the single phase solar market, prepare European market requirements for incorporation into the Company's overall product strategies and development programs; research renewable incentive programs in Europe; investigate the impact of those incentive programs on current and future products; and collaborate with internal departments to ensure that the products developed are supported and successfully launched to market. Reporting to the Senior Product Manager, depending on individual qualifications and experience, the Product Manager will:

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

Product Management:

 

* Prepare market requirement documents, reflecting the European market needs

 

* Collaborate with the Product Marketing team, Sales and other stakeholders to ensure that a strong, creative and highly valued product roadmap is brought to market in a timely fashion. Emphasis will be placed on using Voice of the Customer to ensure that new product design, functionality and price meet end user needs/desires

 

* Partner with Engineering to ensure that critical product usage information is captured and documented in manuals, packaging and datasheets

 

* Develop and maintain understanding on the future utility and grid requirements

 

* Analysis of cost/price impacts

 

* Identify future possibilities for differentiation of products as a result of the above investigations.

 

 

Marketing:

 

* Maintain up-to-date knowledge and summary reports on renewable incentive programs in Europe including time impacts, benefits and risks for consumers, benefits and risks for investors.

 

* Maintain up-to-date knowledge and summary reports on how European countries are planning to comply with the EU commitment to the "Kyoto Protocol"

 

* Identify and analyze the current political situation and future expectations/risks from the governmental point of view

 

* Identify trends for improvements or changes in the renewable market segment, specifically related to incentives, utility aspects and stability of marketing environments

 

* Determine if European trends are the same in North America and Asia in selected countries

 

 

Qualifications:

 

* Requires a university degree in Engineering, or related discipline

 

* 5+ years of product management & marketing experience in a high tech environment, ideally in Power Electronics

 

* Working knowledge of Bills of Material (BOMs), ERP systems and manufacturing processes

 

* Excellent analytical and research skills

 

* Ability to travel throughout Europe and internationally for extended periods of time

 

* Strong computer skills with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

 

* Strong written and verbal communication skills in both German and English; working knowledge of Spanish is desirable

 

* A good work ethic, along with high energy and a positive attitude

 

* Strong approach to team work and collaboration; ability to work in a flexible and changing/demanding environment
