Embedded Software Engineers – Surrey, UK – Semiconductors

My client is at the forefront of media processor and System-on-Chip technology. They are currently looking to recruit Embedded Software Engineers to join their R&D Team based in Surrey, UK. You will be responsible for implementing embedded libraries under Linux, on an ARM core, which will include developing microcode for my client’s proprietary media processor array.

The successful candidates will possess the following:
• Working knowledge of writing Microcode for VLIW processors
• Excellent current 'C' and ‘C++’ programming
• Strong problem solving skills
• Knowledge developing on embedded systems (writing device drivers, programming at the hardware level).

Also of interest would be:
• A background in audio CODECs and/or algorithms for Audio processing.
• A background in developing Video CODECs, and/or algorithms for Video capture hardware.
• Knowledge of implementing image processing algorithms in, for instance, a device driver or imaging library (experience developing applications which use graphics libraries is unlikely to be relevant).
• Knowledge of implementing parallel processing algorithms.
• Knowledge of developing under Linux.
