Principal Digital ASIC Design Engineer - Cellular / Cambridge

An experienced digital ASIC designer is required to undertake a lead role in our client's brand new design team. Desirable skills include: digital, ASIC, design, RTL, VHDL, Verilog, synthesis, verification, back-end, layout, architecture, wireless, baseband, communications, cellular, 3G, LTE, PHY, DSP, software, algorithm, semiconductor.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a brand new R&D team operating within the cellular market.

This key hire will work alongside a team of highly experienced engineers in the Algorithms and ASIC development group. Here you will be responsible for the architecture definition, design, implementation and verification of digital IC hardware modules for leading-edge wireless communication systems. Some occasional travel France and / or the Far East may also be required.

Successful candidates will have:

-A degree from a good University in Electrical Engineering or related subject
-A strong background digital ASIC design
-VHDL/Verilog expertise
-Some knowledge / experience in DSP / Algorithm development
-RTL simulation experience using ModelSim and/or NCSim
-Knowledge of 3GPP/LTE/PHY cellular communication systems is highly desirable
-Ideally some prior experience leading a team.
