Experienced FPGA engineer for video codecs sought for Hampshire-based client. Key words: digital, FPGA, design, VHDL, Verilog, MPEG, H264, simulation, synthesis, PCI bus interfacing, Altera, Xilinx, HDL, imaging, video, compression, decoder, C, C++.
Our client, a leading supplier of video coding technology, seeks a Senior FPGA Design engineer to join its brand new office in Hampshire.
Working sometimes individually or as part of a small team, the job will include FPGA hardware design, C coding, and some research. Some example projects that you might become involved in are:
- Working on improving encoders - areas might include motion estimation and rate control algorithms
- Implementing new coding standards running on FPGA technology
- Optimising a core to run on more cost effective devices and/or ASIC processes
The right candidate will have the following attributes:
-BSc / MSc / PhD degree in Electronic Engineering / similar
-A strong background in high speed FPGA design
-VHDL / Verilog expertise
-MPEG / Video / Image compression experience
-A motivated and positive attitude
