Support Engineer – France – Digital Media Management Solutions

My client is a market leading international vendor of digital media management solutions and they are currently looking to recruit a Support Engineer to join their team based in France. Reporting to the Professional Services Manager, you will be responsible for customer support (1st and 2nd level) of digital archive solutions, supporting the Hotline (24x7) for International customer installations based on a duty schedule defined by the Support Team Leader, and defining call duty schedules and involving engineers based in North America, Canada and France. You will also be working with development engineers in order to define a working solution, managing patches and release delivery on installed bases, and communicating information or changes through the call tracking and problem tracking systems.

The successful candidate will possess the following:
• BS in Engineering or Computer Science (MS preferred)
• Working knowledge spanning 10 years or more within the following areas:
• System administration and tuning (Unix Solaris and Windows): system installation, configuration, filesystem setup, shell scripts, etc.
• Oracle database administration
• Storage systems, backup and data migration solutions based on disk and digital tape libraries (StorageTek, Adic, IBM)
• Experience in Storage Area Networks (installation, tuning, troubleshooting)
• Network skills (TCP/IP and SMB protocols, routing, etc.)
• Experience of broadcast environments (Video server interfaces) is a real plus
• Ability to support international customers
• Organisation and communication skills to manage the organization and interface with multinational engineers. Ability to manage cross-functional teams of internal and external resources.
• Ability to work a 24x7 schedule.
