Windows Mobile/WinCE Device Driver Engineer, Permanent, UK, £60,000 p/a

Optimus is working with the largest provider of 3G chipset and software technology in the world, with chipsets shipped to more than 50 customers and powering the majority of all 3G devices commercially available. They are partners with nearly 60 3G network operators around the globe and has the largest GSM engineering team in the wireless industry.

Job responsibilities:

Pre and post-sales Windows Mobile technical support to chipset customers on Software issues.
Presentation & training on Windows Mobile based software products and tools.
Resolve technical problems the customer may have with application of the product.

Essential skills:

Windows Mobile device drivers development
ARM family of processors and assembly language
Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS)
Debugging of real-time embedded solutions with J-TAG or ICE debuggers.
Experience in real-time SW development for embedded products.
C or C++ programming language

Desirable skills:
Previous experience in:
Device drivers for handheld portable consumer devices such as mobile phones, PDAs Digital cameras etc.
Device drivers on embedded Linux, Symbian or WinCE
Experience with Verification and Validation of software including Approvals testing and inter-operability testing

Good communication & interpersonal skills for customer-facing role- self starting with Initiative.

Capable of working without direct supervision.
