Tawandang Brew House, Rama 3, Bangkok

Don't expect you'll find many customers for ICs in Bangkok, but it's a stopping off place.

Tawandang is vast, shaped like an enormous beer barrel, and can take 1,600 people. German beer hall type. Established 1999 as the first microbrewery themed restaurant located in the middle of Bangkok on Rama 3.

It is Thailand's biggest micro-brewery, brewing 40,000 litres of beer and lager a month, and claims that all its beer is brewed to the German purity standards using only  pure water, grain, malt, hops and yeast.

Three kinds of draft beer: weizen beer, lager beer, and dunken beer.

Good Thai food. Take a taxi from the Skytrain station.
