Bozotti, the Borgias and Philippe Geyres

The summons to the CEO’s office at STMicroelectronics must seem a bit like an invitation to lunch from the Borgias.

Since Carlo Bozotti took over from Pasquale Pistorio as CEO of ST, the culling of senior execs has been remorseless.

Latest to go is the 20 year veteran Philippe Geyres Executive Vice President and General Manager of its HPC (Home, Personal, Communication) division.

The Borgia Popes specialized in poisoning Cardinals, in those days rich men, and after their deaths the Cardinals’ fortunes passed to the Pope.

Geyres’ division delivered 55 per cent of ST’s revenues. It is believed that he will be succeeded by one of Bozotti’s own men.

Let’s hope he enjoys his pasta in the CEO’s dining room at Agrate.
