Had it not been for lower than expected prices, the semiconductor industry would have grown 20 per cent this year, says Future Horizons. As it is, the market looks to have grown ten per cent.
Future Horizons shocked the industry in January when it came out with a 20 per cent forecast for 2006.
Price wars in memories and microprocessors helped scupper that.
However the company now reckons prices are going up, and that the increases will have a major effect on driving growth in 2007.
