You're having a laugh, aren't you Paul?

Paul Dal Santo, vice president and general manager of AMD's Handheld Division, came out with a cracking quote yesterday.

"The new PRADA phone by LG offers a beautiful blend of style and performance, packed with the kind of cutting-edge multimedia that consumers crave," raved Paul.

Consumers crave? The 'cutting-edge multimedia' sector of the cellphone market is the slowest growing sector of the entire cellphone market.

What consumers are craving is the bottom end phones. Phones which just do talk 'n text are by far the fastest growing segment of the market, and are expected to grow to over 30 per cent of the total cellphone market last year.

These 'ultra-low-cost' phones are growing at a rate 14 times the growth of the phone market as a whole. These are what consumers crave, not smartphones.

We're all a bit fed up with bollox from our political leaders who seem to lie for a pastime.

So give us a break, Paul.
