Kick The Rascals Out

For most people, tomorrow is a day of humiliation. You have to vote for someone who's led either by a smarmy, lying, opportunist (Labour and Tory parties) or a boring old git (Lib-Dems).

For me it's not like that at all. I live in the only constituency in the country where the rascally politicians have been kicked out, and the council is run by the Residents' Association (RA).

I don't know if the RA has anything to do with the fact that I can walk, within fifteen minutes, to nine pubs, four Italian restaurants, three curry houses, two Thai restaurants, a kebab house and a Chinese, but they obviously haven't prevented it.

A couple of years ago, the constituency, Epsom & Ewell, was voted by a TV channel to be the finest place to live in the country.

It's not that it's fey or chi-chi, and it's certainly anything but posh, but there are usually flowers in bloom, the parks are pretty, the lakes clean, the streets usually clean. and the wildlife well-fed and apparently content.

The only thing the RA don't seem to be able to do is get the poll tax down.

So, my fellow countrymen, ask not what the politicians can do for you, just kick the rascals out.
