This is pretty easy because the analyst company VLSI Research provides a list based on revenues every year and, every year, it’s pretty much the same as the previous year.
Last year, the Big Three, Applied Materials, Tokyo Electron, and ASML, held the top three spots for the fifth consecutive year and, apart from Lam Research, which moved from seventh place to fifth place, the 2006 rankings were the same as in 2005.
So the top ten chip production equipment companies are:
