Rum Punch And The Black Bamboo

Twenty-one rum punches is the record knocked back in one session at the Mullins beach bar on the West coast of Barbados.

The record is held by a Barbadian nicknamed ‘Families’ because he’s had so many children by so many different women.

Asked if ‘Families’ was a particularly well-set up guy, a Barbadian friend of his told me last week: “No. It’s the mouth. He can talk his way in, and he can talk his way out.”

Apparently, of all the many nationalities of women pilgrimaging to Barbados in search of the legendary ‘black bamboo’, the most predatory are the Canadian girls.

C'mon you Essex girls, you're losing your Caribbean cred.
