TTL Prices Gone To Hell And Back

“After reaching their lowest low ever during the recession, the semiconductor manufacturers producing TTL devices have now had the pendulum swinging the other way,” wrote Electronics Weekly in its Sept 27th 1972 edition.

“Many, in the words of one of them, ‘have been caught with their pants down’ at the unpredictable growth in the TTL integrated circuit market,” continues the report.

“From dumping and a price war, to product delinquency and a chance to raise prices has taken less than a year,” says the EW story.

"In the US, the order rate on TTL has trebled since the beginning of the year, and deliveries are already running at an average of some 12-15 weeks."
