Development Buys Success, says Transitron

'Boeing Didn’t Invent The Aeroplane'

Is the title of an ad running in Electronics Weekly’s edition of September 24 1969.

'Boeing Didn’t Invent The Aeroplane'

Is how one ad starts off in Electronics Weekly’s edition of September 24 1969.

‘Some of the most important names in the world have only one claim to fame’, reads the ad, 'they’re brilliant at making the best of things. They leave the inventing to the boys in the backrooms. And limit their high-flying to developing other peoples’ ideas. Sometimes their own’, says the ad.

‘To the stage where quantity manufacture without loss of quality is possible. Transitron are doing this with discrete components and ICs’, runs the ad.

The ad finishes in ringing tones, and big bold type:

'Development buys success’

‘Ask TRANSITRON’

TOMORROW MORNING: TEN BEST MOBILE PHONE MANUFACTURERS
